If the online safety bill passes with the encryption bits

How long until every single message sent or received in the UK is on the dark web, do u reckon?

Aw but the wee bairns what if they see porn (other than Mermaids approved educational materials) etc.

For most of us Whatsapp will quickly be replaced by moniteredapp because most people do not need gold standard security to keep up with their childrens class chat.

Will be interested how government will react though.  Currently PMBJ etc would happily use a guaranteed encrypted service.  As soon as they are told there is a back door to it then it may as well be Chinese tech.

And when your every single private conversation (and photo) is rendered public domain, will you still be happy with monitoredapp?

Maybe your horizons really don't extend beyond what Mopsy and Topsy are having for finger food at elevenses tomorrow but do you think everyone can say the same?

People kill themselves over even incorrectly believing they have been hacked and then blackmailed.  In any event such hacking is mostly because they have hacked my device which has already unencrypted the message.

You are correct that if i were sending risque and beyond pics i would research the dark web so i do not believe this measure has a practical safeguarding merit but generally speaking moniteredapp will work fine as people will adjust.

Everyone reading this now who has used whatsapp to send private information is going to have to live with the knowledge that every similar thing they send in the future is public domain.
