Home Insurance Q.

So, I've had Barclays contents insurance for the past 6 years. Went into the branch at the time and set it all up with the chap there. 

Looked at my policy for the first time in those 6 years yesterday and it turns out that it only covers really expensive things not general content (which is the unticked option on the summary), the general content insurance being the one I actually wanted. 

Clearly someone at Barclays has made a mistake. Think I can get my money back for paying for something i didn't want, and not receiving the insurance I did in fact ask for?
