Well, the actual proposals in the Green New Deal are not very good, but we urgently need a complete re-set of climate policy in order to avoid catastrophe, so their hearts were in the right place. This will mean taxing people more and borrowing a lot of money because we have to change over the energy, heating and transport systems in twelve years rather than the sixty or so years that would do it gradually without any waste.
In the UK, we are distracted from this by the disaster that is Brexit.
