Bigots out. The country that was the first to bring in the vote for women leads again in standing up for the rights of another persecuted and marginalised group. Well done to all involved.

ACT's tourism spokesperson Dr James McDowall told Newshub it's disappointing but not surprising people are shocked by what happened in Auckland.
"In a civilised country, you counter ideas you don't like with more speech and debate, not violence and intimidation," he said.
"Tourism businesses have been hammered over the past few years, they can't afford for potential tourists to have another reason to take their money elsewhere.
"The Government didn't promote rational behaviour, Ministers actually joined in on the witch-hunt. It sends a message that New Zealand isn't capable of rational debate and allowing people to speak freely."

I thought she was campaigning for women's rights, rather than being specifically anti-trans i.e. similar to JKR and just generally supporting the VAST majority.
Tuesday sums it up well. The weightlifting and sports communities now agree that NZ's position on sports was wrong.
@Warren - Why do you hate women?

NZ in danger of being a bit too pleased with itself TBH. I've seen a couple of the Stuff reports and they definitely have a slant to them.

Marama Davidson, Green Party co-leader said of the crowd violence:
“Trans people are a taonga... and trans people are tired of being oppressed and discriminated.
I am a prevention violence minister, and I know what causes violence in this world and it’s white cis men.”
so racism and sexism seems to be par for the course in NZ.

Anyone who can watch this and think condoning violence by men against women, including pensioners FFS, is beyond redemption.

One of my hippy left wing friends used to be quite judgemental of my TERF views.
She let a trans person live with her who she met on sparerooms. Said trans ended up being psycho, threatening my friend, trashing my friend's flat, and basically being a mentalist. The ex-bloke did all this and when they got kicked out, accused my friend of being anti-trans (when she was the exact opposite).
My friend no longer judges my TERF views.

Good on NZ, leading the world on human rights once again
Warren 27 Mar 23 09:03
___________________________________________________________________
whatever your position on Trans rights (which seem to be in a pretty good place in the west), this is not on, this is intimidation of people with some legitimate concerns and silencing opposition akin to blackshirts
it's not a good look for campaigners to adopt a "we're the yobs" stance and it won't win any converts
honestly rethinking my own position on this stuff

I definitely think people who think The Right Side Of History are the men with signs saying "Choke on my ladyd1ck, TERF Cvnts" when women are asking to be allowed to speak should perhaps take a step back.

Fine people.

Not to mention the danger in not knowing what has been thrown, and how harmful it is, at the time. We live in times where men throw acid at women to punish them. We live in times where men pour bottles of cosmetics over women to humiliate them, to try to stop them from leaving the home.

My problem isn’t with her substantive views on protected spaces for women and girls, that’s agreed.

Laz's problem is invariably that he's not getting enough attention.

I supposed as a porn-addled middle aged bloke Laz has a lot in common with many trans-identifying males. Maybe he just needs one nudge to get him over the line to AGP.

‘Also Tomlin, what are your views on women being assaulted? No reaction at all to a pensioner getting punched in the head?’
Hi Tom. I condemn it, just as I do and have repeatedly condemned abuse and threats made to GCs on twitter.
Have just scoured a few threads and can find nothing from you on the assault on a female protestor at the event? Or indeed any condemnation of abuse, bullying and threats made to trans inclusive feminists?
Perhaps you could clarify.

And you’re not seriously asking what problems feminsists could have with Parker wider views? Christ.

I seldom watch pornography, but were I to do so I’d certainly consider the trans offering. Daisy Taylor is hot. And yes I think size matters - nothing completes a beautiful woman like a rock hard nine inch c0ck.

"The man who tipped liquid over KJK has now been invited to the United Nations to the Honour Women for Women's Month event."
Oh my... From what I've read about her, PP seems like a hateful woman, and she certainly isn't a spokewoman for my version of feminism or for my position on women's rights and the trans issue, but obviously (although, I guess it isn't obvious?) physically assaulting her is absolutely inexcusable (and that is the case even if she wasn't "at risk of death" as our favourite RoF gasbag has tried to suggest a few times).
What on earth was whoever made the invitation thinking??? It is a really extraordinarily stupid and, yes, dangerous thing to do, for an international body to be seen to actively endorse and even applaud a physical assault on a woman (or on any person, for that matter).
That just cannot be true...

The man who assaulted KJK is Eli (Eliana) Rubashkyn. His LinkedIn profile says:
Eli Rubashkyn. GIESC Program Officer at ILGA World, Intersex Human Rights at the UN.

Which is obviously fine, Anna (not that she needs my permission, of course!), but she also seems to "care a lot" about other stuff that isn't quite so benign. Certainly, at the very least, she has been content to repeatedly use the platform / money of people and organisations whose publicly stated aims are hateful.

You're a bit old to be jealous. One would have hoped that you'd learn how to regulate your emotions by your age, but hey-ho.

She shouldn't have said that. She should have said men. Men of all colours cause most of the violence in the world.

Tomlin still scouring the internet for that assault on a female protester he was just certain definitely happened

She didn’t say ‘most violence’ which I might be able to accept as fact as long as contextualised (the burden of defending children, women, society falls unequally and unfairly on men owing to structural matriarchy and toxic femininity).
she said ‘violence’ which I interpret to mean ‘all violence’ which is incorrect and in my view is sexist hate speech.
1

You are asbolutely correct that some violence is perpetrated by women. I respect your right to consider the inclusion of the word "all" as misandrist hate speech.
