Getting splinters out of childrens hands / feet

Anyone tried using a calpol syringe?

fooking magic m7s. thank me later.

aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

when I worked in a woodyard I got to close to the lathe as a blast of wind came in the workshop and got an eyeball full of splinters.  the doc hads to cover my eyeball in iodene so they could be seen and pluvk them out with tweezers whilst a nurse held open my eyelid.  great days.

my co worker (dave) at the wood yard (he was full time) went on a camping trip with his mates one weekend and realised his left ball had swollen to tennis ball size over night.  in the privacy of his tent he inspected and discovered the tip of a splinter.  removing it with his SAK tweezers it was apparently an inch and a half long and had pierced right through his plum.  it apparently deflated with some speed after removal.

I was riding my motorbike down the underpass to Canary Wharf about 10 years ago and had to open the visor as had mistakenly left a daytime tinted visor on and couldn’t see much in the gloom but I was behind a truck with a full load of scrap metal going to Silvertown scrap Wharf. My left eye suddenly felt like I’d been shot by a small calibre rifle.

after a day and a night of pain I ended up in Moorfields where they removed a metal splinter under local. Nothing like looking at the needle coming into your eye.

(Abbs - these days Calpol comes with a little syringe for dosing purposes.  He's talking about using the syringe that comes with the Calpol to remove the splinters. It's not an extra type of Calpol or something.)

Genius, Wellington.  Will definitely try that.
