I have two columns (A and B). Column A gives the date an event starts. Column B gives the time an event starts.
I then have two further columns (C and D) Column C gives the date an event finishes. Column D gives the time an event finishes.
In column E I want a formula for the total duration of the event....
I can't work out how to do this. Would anyone help? (looks at Clubbers et al)
Please :)

How do you want the time measured?

Step 1 - merge the date and time columns

Step 2 calculate difference

Wellers, that is what I've done
=TEXT(L5-C5,"h:mm")... but it's not picking up difference in the 24 hours that elapsed.

I'm an idiot! I had to add a D before the h! :)
