Yes - what drains the time is collecting your bag, checking-in, clearing security then customers, etc. Customs/passport control is easier with e-passports.
BA are helpful and efficient about this things ime. i've done international to international at terminal 5 in about 30 minutes when my first flight was delayed. someone will collect you from the door of the arriving plane, whisk you through a series of secret passageways, chucking you to the front of any queues along the way, and deposit you at the departure gate.
if your second flight is domestic they may be more relaxed about whether you make it or not, i guess.
if you are in biz and on a through ticket you should be off early and able to use fast track security (although last time I landed at T5 from the US it wasn’t open) which ime means you would be unlucky not to make it.

What terminal are you landing in, and what terminal are you taking off from?
Are you one one PNR?

Same terminal? Piece of cake if on time.

Domestic flights are a doddle. I've rocked up 15 mins before and boarded.

If it's the same terminal, it'll be fine.
Are you on one ticket? Or two separate tickets?

you think passport control plus customs will take less than that?

that terse tone was @ dux and his "doddle"
it is a through-ticket (so at least could wait for the next one but I think that is likely to be next morning)

You just need to make sure you fly first class on your leg in so you're first to get off the plane.

PP has a point. It's been years since I travelled economy so I kinda forget what it's like for some people...

I am actually travelling business class (there were no economy seats left) but I am marginally embarrassed about it because genuine winners go economy

No. You will need to come through the border, collect luggage and then check luggage, go back through security etc.

"I’ve got 3 hours on Wednesday and I’m seriously concerned I won’t make it"
Yes risky, but you're probably on a variety of watch lists, so it's different for you.

An hour is absolutely heaps of time if you are booked through on one ticket and so don't have to collect luggage.

Michelle Yeoh would swoosh awesomely into her private jet, I imagine

Is it two international flights, or international inbound with local outbound?
People seem to be assuming the latter, but if it's the former (and I'm no expert on these things) you don't go through passport control, do you?
