Chris Grayling standing down

We have lost one of the greatest politicians of our age.

He knows how to work a room.

I remember being at a drinks event when he was Lord Chancellor, and seeing him going from group to group, pressing the flesh. He's really tall, so he was very visible.

Of course, he's an uttelry incompetent clown, but he has all the right soft skills to get himself into good jobs.

The tories could stand whoever the hell they like in Epsom and still win.

I mean Chris Grayling increased his vote share in the last election

apparently under all the cluelessness and incompetence, Grayling is quite nice and likeable? Allegedly he's actually the main reason the tories are so strong in that seat

will be keeping an eye to see if that plays out

even in 2019, Grayling’s lead over the combined lib-lab vote (which can be expected substantially to merge in 2024, here as everywhere! was only 10,000. Stay at home tories will cost his successor much of that.
