Yes. Look up Q-risk. Clearly only your Dr can have a discussion about the individual risks and benefits of any treatment for high cholesterol. 

I can't get a cholesterol test without paying £££ for someone to take the blood. Women are probably fine right?

Not really, no. Lower risk sure but I’ve had a 40 something mother of 2 drop dead from a heart attack. Coronaries very narrowed. Likely high cholesterol.
