Cash is King

Something doesn't add up in this story.

A headstone, from my research, doesn't cost anything near £30,000.  They intended on putting the money in the bank but didn't want to carry large amounts through town, well then, make multiple small deposits.  Is this some sort of insurance scam?

But where is their compo face?

Nice headstone we had done recently cost about £1,250.

Shows the depths to which the BBC have sunk when they report this complete nonsense.

Sold three motorhomes to pay for a headstone?

fook me, if there was anyone who felt the need to mark my grave, but loved motorhomes so much that they owned three of them, I'd rather my grave was marked my grave with a tomato stake and kept their motorhomes.

I just assumed he trades in buying and selling the motorhomes and his customers only pay in cash.

The bag of gold kind of stands out.

He also seemed to be aware that he was being watched for over an hour.. that raised a small question in my mind.

£12k for that ugly thing?  I know exactly who buys these.

Luckily I already have a grave and headstone and whoever gets to bury me doesn't have to worry about it.

Whenever I'm looking for a safe place to stash my really valued possession I always think of a motorhome as they are renowned for being sturdy and not at all easy to break into.

Suspect he was mouthing off down the pub and someone waited to see if he moved his gold out of the house with a flood coming.

I suspect that their house has unfortunately flooded for the 4th time because:

It's called Ferryboat Farm Fisheries

It's on a flood plain

Next to a river

That is next to a canal

And the land next door is literally a wetland reserve.
