Buzz and other vintage Port heads

I'm considering shifting some of the stuff i've got laid down (not in bond).

Any interest in a case of 6 1970 Warres?

I thought the point of this sort of speculation was that it was kept bonded? Otherwise for all any buyer knows it’s been stored upright on the radiator in your utility room?

Bought it to drink, I just have more of the 1970 than I need and I want to pile in more on the 1994 to bridge the gap until the 2011 is ready to drink

fwiw it’s stored by the bloke I buy it from in his cellar.

wellers if you’re serious and get no offers talk to Paddy Shave at Brightwells. There is a Christmas sale in about 3 weeks time.

he did really well for my late stepfathers port (late bottled tawny not vintage)

Vintage Port heads"?

I have no concept of "laying down a year.". It would be the worst investment I ever made.

I would go short on that.

I am , however, going to watch a clip of Portishead.

Single bottles duty paid in the UK are going for £100 so that’s fair.  You could get twice as much selling into the USA or HK.

In bond Farr Vintners will do you a 12-bottle case for £990 which is £82.50 per bottle but you have to pay duty and VAT to get the wine.

I would think the 1970 has little more life left as fine port for drinking.  At fifty years it is close to becoming a curiosity.

Errrm that is basically full retail pricing for a private sale with very limited info on how it has been kept.  Given we are talking about a 50 year old wine provenance is going to be a significant concern.

If you don't mind waiting until mid December to have them delivered (delivery in London) then I'll give you GBP450 plus delivery for them.

Ping me a mail on [email protected] if that is of interest.
