Hi ER. Lie ins seem to be a thing of the past for me. I look back on the days of my youth when I could sleep until 10 with no issue with heartfelt regret.
I’ve stayed in bed with tea and reading a new Diana Henry recipe book, which is so brilliantly apt because it’s about autumn and winter cooking. Head now swimming with ideas and have plans to raid the freezer and cook something delicious and cosy.

I’ve been forced to stay quiet for fear of waking everyone else. There is washing waiting but I’m not allowed to get on with it. Frustrating.

Another aspect of being old is waking up extra early and lying in bed thinking of everything that needs to be done…

I made coq au vin. Steam cleaned the carpets. And cleaned slime off flat roof. This is not the Sunday I anticipated.
