Barbados or Jamaica over NY

Any reccos pls...never been to either.  Will have teen kids in tow.  Found decent flights to each.

I was in Jamaica for a week on my own last year, Kingston and Ocho Rios.  TBH by the end I was struggling to think of things to do, having walked up Blue Mountain Peak (drive there and back was way more dangerous than the actual climb), went up Don's River Falls (where 007 first met Honey Rider) and paid my respects to Bob at various locations.

I’ve only been to Sandals in Jamaica. It was fun, but the island itself had no impact on the resort. We did organise a few private snorkelling tours which were good.

Barbados seems to have more culture and interest, but I’ve only ever done day stops there on cruises.

I don't tend to go to the same place again, since the world is so big and all that, but if I did, I'd go to Barbados all the time. The food, the people, the climate, the cricket, the beaches, etc. The only real downside are the American golfers, holidaying with their grand daughters. Avoid that part of the island.

Zette and I did 10 days in Barbados for about 8k last year and while absolutely fantastic it wasn't luxury. Would do again tbf at that price and that hotel. Chilled and not in your face service. Bit bantish with the staff but unless you're a total cock why wouldn't you want them giving and taking.
