Any news from LA at Tory party conference?

Maybe he has found the Tory of his dreams?

that's what makes me think they might be there, hanging around with Risky and agreeing that the country just needs more government and fewer freedoms to become a global bucaneering powerhouse

It will never stop being hilarious that of all the politicians to invent a personal relationship with, Risky chose the woman who will go down as the worst PM in history.

The bloke is an absolute rake magnet.

Heh @ the Guardian:

A few of those in line were simply catastrophe curious. Party members who wanted a chance to eyeball one of life’s greatest failures. But the majority were there because they were genuine believers. The political equivalent of the Japanese soldier in 1974 who had no idea his country had surrendered. They had elected Truss as their leader – Sunak was only a self-proclaimed pretender – and in their eyes she had done nothing to cause them to lose faith.

To be fair to Liz, she’s not short of ideas. The only problem is that they are all really terrible ones. But nothing shakes her self-confidence. She is a woman with absolutely zero self-awareness. No shame. And total amnesia.

you can see how she and risky could  be friends tbf…

I was there and I can confirm it was an absolute hoot. Tried to get home on Wednesday but alas there was no room in the GB news minibus so stayed another day instead.

Generally steered clear of the cameras - did a brief interview with some German tv station but only because I thought nobody would ever see that.

Plenty of young tories there this year - more noticeably so than last year... mainly geeky awkward looking young lads but the odd adult human female there as well

My highlights were, Liz Truss, Farage, JRM and Lee Anderson. Saw plenty of Rishi at the fringe events... Didn't bother with much of the main stage stuff apart from the PM's speech

No tory princesses I noticed (apart from the girl I met the first year I went in 2021) who now works for some polling company and does a bit of journalism for various publications on the side. Charlotte Ivers was also there and I spoke to her about her new role as the new A.A. Gill. Otherwise as usual - few eligible female age appropriate attendees but that's not why I go anyway. It is just interesting and a a hell of lot of fun.

think that was the GB news party - was there for some of it but got there later.

To attend you have to be a tory party member, councillor, MP, peer, accredited press or an exhibitor (either corporate or charity).
