Another cut price BBC NHS “a bit shit” article

This feels like about the 50th article where a BBC person has to go to hospital and discovers the NHS is a disaster zone:

Can they not do some proper journalism to comprehensively set out how shit it is and ensure Richi Wife and his ivory tower cohabitees are in Rwanda by Feb 2025?

OH HOW SAD… WE SHOULD PRIVATISE IT!!

NOT THAT I AM IDEOLOGICALLY COMMITTEE TO A US-STYLE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM YOU UNDERSTAND, BUT IF THE NHS CAN’T THRIVE UNDER THE TORIES THEN THERE REALLY IS NO ALTERNATIVE!!

during my most recent time in A&E, I was struck by the number of frequent flyers in there.  They all knew each other.  They loudly discussed with each other what their latest issue was and how the doctors never do anything about it.

Something needs to be done about these time wasters.  One of them was there about back pain (a woman in her 40s) but marched around with ease.  She kept demanding attention for different things at one point shouting through a door that she had wet herself and wanted a change of clothes (she was literally standing next to the toilet and didn't bother using it).  She then demanded (and got) transportation to take her home.

During this time, an ambulance came in with a very drunk / drugged young man with blood streaming out of the bandages on his head.  The ambulance crew spent 30 minutes persuading him to stay here as he had a very serious injury, he then just got up off the gurney and loudly proclaimed "fvck this" and left...

A&E is now a default destination for people that can’t get GP appointments as well as the 111 “shit better not get sued” default option.

If you want a real eye opener try getting put into a general ward for a day or two, enjoying games such as “spot the doctor”, “find someone who has a fooking clue what your treatment plan is or when you might leave” and the crowd favourite “loud bastard who keeps everyone awake and is prob least ill doesn’t get told to STFU or leave”.

eddie the issue there is that the tozzas have massively cut ancillary spending - eg mental health care funding

and they have treated gps appallingly

which has all ended up (entirely predictably and as they were warned) 2 b a false economy as well as a colossal case of tozza fookwittery by pushing emergency services 2 breaking point

cos, 2 st6 the obvious, all those ppl who would c the gp or be attended by social services don’t just stop needing help if u restrict their access 2 proper services…

it’s been totally braindead by tozzas and their fanbois. and the funny thing is they thought they were being clever by driving the nhs in2 the ground, as they think it will encourage priv7isation. but it won’t

I spent two weeks on a ward.  I was wonderfully cared for.  I listened in as many "google experts" argued with doctors about conditions and treatments.  The utter crap that the staff had to put up with was beyond belief.

The most demanding patients and families were the ones who were professional benefits claimants (I know this because I listened as they argued about their entitlements and coached each other on the different disabilities that pay the best).

I think opinion will turn against the NHS as status quo in the coming years.

Treatment is rationed at primary level (i.e. GP access).

Treatment is no rationed at secondary level (i.e. A&E).

NHS is great for critical care but the rest is slow, difficult to access and shit.

I was on hols recently and had a family member who was unwell. GP and hospital care was good, quick and good value. I would happily pay.
