3d Resin Printing

M7s,

have spent the evening looking at 3d resin printers. Have got my amazon basket full of Elegoo Mars 3 Pro, with resin, gloves, washing station, etc.

Then Mrs shooty says "where will it live?". I say the garage, which prompts research into whether 3d printers can work in cooler temperatures.

Gnereally, the advice seems to be to keep them above 20 degrees C. That's fine if you're in America, but less realistic here Our garage is not heated. I won't be able to print in the house because of carcinogenic fumes and shizzle.

Anyone for a 3D printer out there, and if so, where do you print, and do you by any chance have experience of lower temperature printing?

So what you want to do is to make sure the resin is pre-warmed before sticking it in.  Keep the bottles in your house, warm it in hot water etc etc.  Once in your printer the resin should maintain the required temperatures.  And/or you could make some sort of insulated contraption to house it in be able to use a space heater.

Out of nosiness, wot Wang said? (tho refining the question to "want" rather than "need", as I'm assuming it'll be something hobby ish).

Isn’t there a bloke on here who hates 3D printers and thinks everyone who uses one should be in prison?

I can’t think of anywhere that’s not in the house and is ALWAYS above twenty degrees. Twenty is warm. I doubt garages are above twenty all the time even in Florida. Presumably you could hear your garage to twenty or thereabouts for days when you were actually printing.

Thank you delta, that's exactly what I was thinking.

As elephant said, mini monsters, pseudo warhammer stuff to paint and D&d characters. Plus someone has designed 3d Space Hulk board which is amazing.

There's a lot of pervy statuettes our there. Won't be printing those. Nor firearms.

So yeah. Nersing out. Don't judge me. You're not allowed to judge me. Those are the rules these days.
