Tim Harrison, a Clifford Chance paralegal, will be kayaking 140 miles along the Thames this weekend to help raise money for a life-improving operation for his two year-old daughter.

Harrison's daughter Annabelle was born 12 weeks prematurely and suffered a bleed on the brain, which led to a later diagnosis of spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. This means that the muscles in Annabelle's legs become intensely tight and she is unable to walk unaided.

There is an operation that could alleviate her condition and allow her to walk independently. However, it is only available in the States and the family are trying to raise the £55k needed for the operation, travel and after care.

Harrison is undertaking several sponsored events to raise the cash, the first of which is a 140 mile kayak down the Thames which will take him three days. You can visit the family's Justgiving pages here and here.

I am Belles' mummy and would like to say a huge "Thank you" to everyone who has donated to her cause. I am overwhelmed by your generosity and am finding it hard to keep up with the donations today. Words cannot express how grateful we are to you all - Lets just hope that Harrison actually makes it!!!

Best of luck Tim in your fund raising endeavours for your little girl. Hope you raise the funds and that the op is a full success. To help speed your way, couldn't CC be persuaded to provide you with an interest free loan, with manageable re-payments deductible from your salary over time?

Trips to gentemen's clubs, blue movies, drugs....and a little girl that needs a life-saving operation.

Nice editorial consistency, RoF!

Good luck,I hope it all goes well for Annabelle, I know a little boy who has just had this operation and he is now walking unaided and it was so lovely to see him without his walker.

Well, what can I say?? I'm speechless... lost for words... inadequately vocabularised...!

You wonderful, wonderful people! I owe every one of you a drink of whatever it is that you love. Sadly, pockets are too small for a round for over 250 people and I don't think the UK Charity Commission (or Annabelle or her mummy for that matter) would look too kindly on funds being used for such purposes! Who will settle for a virtual hug?

Everyone's kindness - from friends and strangers in equal measure - has truly and emotionally rocked us. The letters on my keyboard that spell "Thank you" are now completely worn down, I'll have to be on the phone to CC resources to get a replacement! Consider faith in humanity restored in its entirety.

This indiscriminate outpour of kindness will very directly benefit one little girl that many of you will never meet, and that is a sad thing. So, if you wish, please take a look at regular upated piccies and news of Annabelle on her facebook page: www.facebook.com/annabellesdream and "like" it.

Huge, huge love to you all.

From Annabelle's mummy and daddy, her little sister but, most importantly of all here, from our beautiful Annabelle herself.

Right, enough of this soppy nonsense now - I'm going kayak training!
