Latham & Watkins has sounded the gong to announce that it will be launching an office in Seoul, South Korea.

Seoul will be the US firm's sixth in the region to add to its expanding collection of outposts in Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo. Joseph Bevash, office manager in Tokyo, will also head up the Seoul office.

Now with added Seoul

Latham joins over 25 international firms to have a presence in Seoul, including Allen & Overy, White & Case and Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy who all opened in South Korea's capital last year .

Bill Voge, Chair and Managing Partner of Latham, said: “The opening of an office in Seoul is a key development in the firm’s global expansion." No doubt he will be hoping the expansion in Asia won't result in the backpedal strategy that the firm adopted in the Middle East.
