Caol Isla is the biggest most industrial whisky distillary on Islay, 90% goes for blending and supermarkets to slap a label on, not that they don't make good whisky, but don't pay over the odds for it.

Laphroig - triple wood or ten year.
Lagavulin - (sometimes on a deal, but usually £50+
Isle of Jura - generally pretty decent.

If lightly peated is your thing, a Caol Ila 12 yr old would be my preference in that price range (sub £40 I think if you get it through Amazon).
