Gary Lineker

This just in: free speech advocates demanding someone is sacked for exercising free speech!!!

To follow: right wingers claiming they have been silenced appear on national news shows to demand someone is silenced!!!

I loathe his statement glasses, grey goatee and turkey neck

YES! THIS!!

AND I HATE HIS FOOTBALLING CAREER AND HIS MONEY AND HIS RELATIONSHIPS AND HE GETS TO BE ON TV AND BE FAMOUS AND I HATE HIM I HATE HIM I HATE HIM!!

@andrewhunterm

If I was worried about people comparing me to 1930s Germany, my next move probably wouldn't be to shut down all criticism on the national broadcasting service

@Lawton_Times

Understand Match of the Day commentators may also boycott tomorrow’s show. Talks taking place with union reps. More to follow @thetimes shortly.

LOL

Apologies if this has been said already but in case it has been glossed over, the opinion of anyone who has literally shat themselves on live TV is beyond reproach.

We've all been there. Where the fooks's the nearest shitter?

Gary knows what it is to be the man who could wait no longer. His opinion is qualitatively different. Disagree with him at your own risk. One day YOU may be caught short on live TV

Two years left on his contract says the Graudina. Any sports lawyers on care to comment? If it’s fixed term with no notice/break, no wonder he’s so keen to tweet. And yet strangely tacit when getting into his car yesterday.

The other example of this was the Eton teacher getting sacked for giving an unwoke talk to students

he was asked to take the recording of the talk down and didnt

he broke the rules and was fired

lineker has broken his rules and got fired

Only this time it’s someone on the left

its got nothing to do with free speech

it’s got everything 2 do with free speech

the tozzas have entrenched their meatshields throughout the beeb and they r allowed 2 voice pro-tozza political opinions, without a claim they broke the rules

but when some1 voices anti-tozza opinions they go in2 repression mode

it’s basic level, not even subtle, authoritarianism

Nobody is on it today, no pundits, no commentators and it seems the players are going to boycott post game media too.

They've fûcked it. You'd think Nadine Dorries was still minister for sport they've fûcked it so hard.

Royalty, oracle, I think an in sympathy boycott of Rof by you guys is callled for

That's rich coming from the clown prince of self imposed rof holidays.

If there is a record number of viewers for MotD today then that's clear evidence that this has cut through. I wouldn't be off celebrating.

The BBC has apologised for the failure to properly scrutinise claims made by Nadine Dorries on a radio show, capping a day of controversies for the corporation.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just after midday yesterday I semi-jokingly predicted Le Tiss would be brought in to present. I've just seen a clip of Le Tiss on GBeebies and he's clearly up for it.

This could be the greatest 'guess I called it' yet.

N.b. I don't really think they would be stupid enough to do this but...

Rex i arrive with that statement

it will be play well with people who are pro the government reducing migrant boat arrivals

question how big is that group. Also it doesnt play well with groups who potentially could turn an election. Lineker comments would have sunk without trace earlier in week, now comment on Tory sleeve and breaking out into wider public around this issue. Also they are starting to lose control of the narrative.

I don’t think the beeb can back down now.

Most twitter accounts are prefixed with ‘these are my personal opinions’.

would i criticise my employer on social media no. I wouldnt do that outside the firm ever. Could i express my political views on twitter yes. With Lineker risky i suppose its whether you think its the Tory govt who is Linekers employer.

My firm knows i have a twitter account. They often retweet my posts. My tag isn’t my name, but my name is on the account. Also it’s clearly identified who i work for, but it’s a personal account and it clearly expressed as my views not my employers views. I am identified on it. I have a reasonable following in the thousands. Do i post on politics generally no but could. It’s almost exclusive postings on my area of the law. Same with linkedin.  Brexits impacted my area of work a lot and i posted on that. Would they have a problem if i posted extreme political views either far left or right maybe but thats more of offensive issue eg racism. However if i posted a criticism of the government and i have in my area of the law they don’t care. They do have a social media policy.

I am pleased the football world have backed them. Hope to see all 3 of them back on next week otherwise show is finished. Removing Wrighty from MOTD whether directly or indirectly is pretty emotive imo.

I suppose the argument is wrighty removed himself, but i and i think a lot of people have a lot of respect for him. I would argue as a person he is held in higher regard than Lineker.

Just admit you've been demanding an answer from me for a question you intended for Oracle and have now realised it and want to slink off with a sliver of self esteem.

You are the same person no?

Was that what you've been spaffing on about all morning? Deary me you are the thickest thing to ever manage to create an account on rof. Begone.

"Mmmm interesting wonder if his #metoo files will all come out now he’s front page news".

That sort of crap speculation is really fvcking out of order, and I'm really surprised that RoF is letting it stand.

(And the suggestion that he has previously been flying under the radar is just plain dumb).

The rumours about him all centre around his allegedly questionable attitude to fidelity, and his allegedly very liberal alleged interpretation of his alleged marriage vows.

But there has not been a suggestion that he #metoo'ed anybody, that any of the alleged people he allegedly fvcked around with didnt consent. And while fvcking around on your partner may make a person a very crappy human, being an (allegedly) deeply sh1tty husband =/= being guilty of sexually abusive behaviour (at least, not in the #metoo sense).

Cru coming to the realisation that Tory cucks call everyone paedos and sex offenders whilst being absolutely furious with anyone calls them racist when they are being racist.

of course, if the BBC is to be politicised it sets a very bad precedenr, and is sort of an invitation for Starmer to appoint as a man when he gets in
