I’ve been meaning to buy a Fitbit or similar for a while now, now there are various versions, I’m a bit perplexed as to what to go for. Also open to other watch tracking devices.
it is mainly to track my steps, distance while out walking or jogging and then I’d use it at the gym too eventually.
I’d like to be able to track calorie intake and calories burned, I think some track that also.
I suppose my question for the rof fitties is whether I should go for a basic version or do the newer styles add any sexy new features?!

I found a gps watch good for walking and running but not for general gym time.

If you have an apple watch and phone, most of what you need will be found in that environment.
Depends if you want to be wedded to that though.
Garmin vivoactive 4 does a lot of what you say you need, and if you are a lady, garmin do a fully featured fitness device that looks like an actual watch.
Some of the newer devices do pulse ox monitoring, some track menstrual cycle, water intake.
No right answer, its always a cost v features v looks v app balance.

If you are a celebrity with 100k plus followers you can wear whatever you like (or as little as you like depending on your claim to fame)
