80-somethings who are vaccinated

have a good chance of dropping dead in the next few months from natural causes

so is it realistic that they will continue to observe lockdown for the rest of their lives?

(lockdown will be in place in some form or another for the rest of this year regardless of the polyannaing on here)

crypto - social contact in homes is the big thing

if you could have friends over for dinner legally then this wouldn't be nearly so oppressive

so they can do that

and travel to see people

Speak for yourself by my mum 79 and just been vaccinated and good for another decade.  Even the old man looks like he'll do another few years despite the cancer and heart problems.  There comes a point where old age means these things advance so slowly they aren't really a problem.

I agree with Guy. The more people think they are immune the less they think they will be protected by lockdown.

We will get into mid February and 15% of the population will have had the vaccine and a non-overlapping 15% will either have had Covid or strongly believe they’ve had it (We know that some first-wavers won’t have immunity now but many will think / hope they do). Add to that probably another non-overlapping 30% of young people and others who just aren’t that bothered by the risk, and you’ve got a smaller and small minority of Karens, shielders, and the comfortable furloughed who will be in favour of lockdown. Day by day the pressure will be on to lift lockdown.

There is going to be a huge backlash against SAGE if they try to keep restrictions up once over 50s vaccinated.    It is not going to be possible even if the government wanted it.  Yes they can keep pubs shut I suppose but there will gatherings on the streets, and I will be in their number.

yes cockpit all women of 79 will live another 11 years and none will die this year having lived a shitty awful couple of years for absolutely no reason

well done you genius, once again

DId you miss the use of the word “average” Clergs?  On a pure statistical measure that means approximately 50% of 79 year old women in the UK will live to the age of 90 or beyond.

Let me know if you need any more help understanding and I’ll happily assist.

It is the way it works.  As your metabolism and bodily systems slow down so does the rate at which the cancer cells reproduce and spread.  My great aunt never had treatment for her cancer because the medics were right that general old age would carry her off before her cancer ever got big enough and spread far enough to become an issue.

I agree with Guy. The more people think they are immune the less they think they will be protected by lockdown.

It’s pretty clear from the lead story in The Times that SAGE agrees and is concerned about risk/their place in the sun.*

*delete to taste.

  • If your heart rate goes to 160 a second and your feet go blue after taking the jab you died with vaccine not of it
  • More than 90pc of those who died after the vaccine had irregular heartbeat and blue foot syndrome before
  • Take your jab and shut up
