Has anyone managed to have an actual procedure done yet?
Daughter chipped her tooth yesterday. Fucking hours of phone calls later I have managed to find someone to look at her this afternoon. I'm told they will only be able to do a temp repair because they 'do not have the correct PPE to do any other procedures' which was the case at several dentists.
Ours still isn't even open for check ups.

I had a check up this morning and have the hygienist on Thursday afternoon. I also had a zoom post braces retainer check which was weird.
I apparently have a cavity in one of my wisdom teeth and they'll phone me in case I need an extraction. It's business as usual except they are very busy and wearing masks and face shields

but for anything involving the drill I am told that they need special respirator-style PPE because of the risk or fine particle transmission for which a mask/face shield is not enough?
so you can have a tooth extracted but not filled without this special PPE....this is what I am being told anyway

Sounds right. I had hygienist but it was pick and shovel not water based.

Dentists. Right up there with teachers at the moment in terms of sh1tting the bed in response to Covid. Dentistry is health care. Doctors and nurses just have to suck it up and get on with it. Dentists should do likewise.

Government shouldn’t have de facto privatised them then if it wanted to retain that sort of control, but it didn’t,
