given the absolutely massive ginormous fvck up of it the scots made, it's probably best to move on and reflect on the fact that if Scotland had had to deal with it on its own it would have been SCREWED
For me and for most middle-class English types the name “Nat West” is an anti-brand.
It stands for outdated IT systems which often break down, stressed overworked frontline staff who really couldn’t give a tinker’s, shoddy products with high charges and little flexibility. It stands for ripoff pricing and poor service. It stands for fleecing grannies and sticking with outdated administrative systems. It stands for closing look all branches to save money but wasting it by the lorry load on facile marketing initiatives. Above all it stinks of failure to give a stuff about the customer.
I have no idea what the highly-paid brand consultants have been smoking but calling this bank Nat West just screams of the idea that they couldn’t care less.

Probably in anticipation of Scotland’s leave vote soon.
A company should reflect from its owners and whether we like it or not, they are owned by the English.

They have been slowly doing this for some time, when the ring-fencing occurred they started using the NatWest name for commercial lending.

At least it frees up RBS (Reserve Bank of Scotland).

Makes sense - the RBS brand must be the worst of all of the British banks. The NatWest brand is far more valuable.

Seriously agree. Assume the consultants were all under 30 and don't remember. "Oh, a legacy brand!"
