Just a side step away from the bustle of streets Oxford and New Bond, Blenheim Street is home to a fair few restaurants - Italian, French(ish) and Oriental. Nagomi is the least obvious restaurant of the lot with its plain exterior, but a closer inspection will pay dividends. Possibly in sushi.

The grey front of house is actually quite cosy inside with two levels. The downstairs is open for busier nights and houses a bar and private room, but the quiet dining room on ground level is the perfect place for some relaxed dinner or lunch.

Nagomi prides itself as a 'Japanese Pub' where the free flowing drinks are just as important as the wide range of incredibly tasty food. Just beware of Japanese businessmen there to celebrate a deal by getting hammered.

Regulars rush onto the tube to get to Nagomi before the evening crowd

The array of food and drinks is mostly traditional Japanese and adoringly prepared. A good sized set meal will probably cost you around £15-20 with some drinks. Whatever you eat, you're more than likely to be satisfied.

Nagomi is almost surprisingly popular despite its modest shell and, most importantly, counts Japanese people amongst its regulars who come for the quality of food (and to get trolleyed). Order the mixed-sushi don or the chicken katsu meals and you won't be disappointed. Nagomi's quality far exceeds its pricing which makes it an invaluable place for a nice meal. It's sure to impress ladies for that romantic lunch too - the only problem being its close proximity to several bridal shops...
