South Westminster Legal Advice Centre, a charity which gives free legal advice to people on low incomes who live and work in Central London, has been running for 25 years

Until 29th February 2024, we have a live Silent Auction, with some terrific prizes, including designer jewellery, holidays, wine, meals out, and some experiences which you may not otherwise have the chance to try.

About SWLAC: SWLAC is a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) presently based in The Abbey Centre, in Great Smith Street, London SW1, just around the corner from Westminster Abbey – we share the premises with, amongst others, the Food Bank. All our lawyers, trainees, and admin support volunteers are attending voluntarily and free of charge. (In 25 years, we have never paid a penny in salaries)

We advise on all areas of “high street law” including employment, family, landlord and tenant, consumer, and succession issues, and we provide approximately 2,000 client consultations each year at an average cost of under £20 each. We reckon we have provided free legal advice in over 40,000 client consultations since inception 25 years ago.

You can learn more about what we are about on our website:  where (if you feel like it) you could make a donation.

Will you fund one client consultation per month? You could make a real difference with a monthly standing order of just £20 (and get Gift Aid relief too)? Please contact [email protected]
