We seem to be motoring along pretty much as usual in terms of number of medals won, we just haven't converted as many to gold as last few olympics.

They'll add themselves together with new zealand soon like the aussie press did in 2012 and be ahead again.

We would be well clear at the top in the 'sitting down' Olympics.

Rowing, Twaekondo (sp) and athletics look likely to be the biggest under performers

Talking of medal tables, traditionally these are ranked in order of number of Golds, then Silvers then Bronze.  Such a ranking shows China top by a hefty ranking.  But for some reason some of the US networks have taken to ranking by total medals won (of all kinds).  I wonder why?

The US have always done this since a long time before the Chinese became competitive.  I remember the same fuss at the last Olympics
