turned up at a Business Lunch

which I normally would never do but felt should do my once a decade

the other person has just had to cancel because their train is trapped (excuses excuses)

shall I order a wine even though I need to do more work later?

I mean in 1999 this wouldn't even be a question would it

A few people at work call lunches with clients etc "Business Lunch" I find it weirdly anachronistic, like something from the 70s or 80s.  Adrian Mole had a Chinese "Business Lunch" special, in one of the diaries and I am always reminded of that.

Also remember when they were legal but social lunches were not Because COVID?

That was a legitimately insane moment. See also scotch eggs / substantial meal mania and the rule of six.

What did you do Clergs?

Have a proper nose-bag with few sherbets, or slope back home after your starter?

Assuming it was all expensed, surely you got stuck in…?
