is it unexpected? - I think fashion and music revivals twenty years later (as the kids grow up and start selling this stuff and making tv and films about their childhood era) is a pretty standard cycle.
The 70s were 50 years ago! Yes, I think the late resurgence of mullets was a bit surprising. For a while there half the young lads at my gym were sporting them. The cultural link they have to mullets is not really clear to me - but then I am getting on a bit.
The rave scene is also making a come back and I believe rather popular with 20 somethings. I might be cool again soon with my tales of days of old and Messrs. Digweed Oakenfold and Sasha (sounds like a law firm really).
I’ve worn the same style of clothes all my adult life. Occasionally it comes into fashion and people think I’m trying to be cool but just as quickly it goes out again and I can go back to being shunned for my poor fashion sense.
Racism, further fuelled by this toxic Tory govt and their toxic policies. Back to the 70's. Brexit unleashed the virus that was relatively dormant.
Strikes (the Seventies again).
The UK becoming the poor man and the sick man of Europe.
ABBA is back ( a good thing).
Crooners singing to big band music (Sinatra etc) never dies out. Musical scores by Mancini, Morricone, Rota, etc will never die out. Ditto Burt Baccharach's playlist (though these have never been out of fashion). I'm just starting to appreciate bossa nova and Spanish guitar music also.
Footy club shirts of the 80s
80s retro-style running shorts (indoors in summer for the time being).
If vinyl is back, then CDs and DVDs should not go out. Laptops makers should re-install CD-ROMs
yes and Sambas. Though tbh I think there are always a few people wearing these. I absolutely h7d the style of trainer with massive thick soles, so this is good news for me.
Actually re perms tho. Hairdresser says she’s getting loads of lads from the local school but they all have to have consent letters from their mums (😂) the barber is sending them over so they get their mop on top on #1 on the sides
i feel ancient I just thought all the lads looked really unkempt and could do with a bit of a nate jacobs makeover

I remember 70s being all the rage in the 90s, every other bloody night seemed to be a 70s night.

It seems that every time I visit mainland Europe there’s a poster for an upcoming dance night featuring Carl Cox or Paul Oakenfold etc.
