I think that is more a boquerones style tapas no? Anchovies in oil rather than vinegar. They are yummers by the way (boquerones I mean no idea about these things)
Or, if you dont want to bin it, what you could do is blend it up with some mayo and avocado, and then mould it into a rough sphere. You can then freeze it, and if your flat ever gets robbed you can throw it at the burglar.
Nice slice of toasted sourdough, thin spread of creme fraiche, sardines and a squirt of lemon. Maybe some finely chopped parsley if you've got any lying around.
toast brown bread, spread with plenty of good quality butter add a handful of rocket or baby spinach and layer on these sardines with plenty of olive oil from the can, a twist of black pepper and a squeeze of lemon

I was thinking with a herby salad and a potato salad;
also saw a Nigel Slater type pasta dish.
I have a couple of tins of those and a tin of haggis to use up.

So I think you would just eat them on their own.
I wouldn’t eat them with haggis.

I’m not sure my Spanish is right, and I’ve only seen them there and bizarrely in M&S.
It’s an anchovy but rather than being in brine and salty is in oil and is vinegary, so is a boquerone. They are yummers.

a few years ago I went to a pop up restaurant where each course featured a different insect. ants are very nice - taste like lemon sherbet.
