If anyone can win the Giro and Tour in one year it's Pog or Jonas. But Jonas seems to have decided his career should be like Armstrong's - show up for the Tour and treat anything else as a training outing. Pog has said he wants to win it all, so the Giro and Vuelta need claiming as well as a WC jersey and Olympic gold. We are privileged to witness this generation.

Has anyone in modern times ever won the Giro and the Tour?
FroomeDog’s 1st and 3rd in 2018 was an amazing achievement, even with the SkyTrain in peak form.

Define modern times. Last double was Pantani in 98 (but that was a v odd TdF) before than Indurain in 93

TDF starts early this year (29 June) cos of Olympics, and Giro finishes on 26 May.
With only a 5 week gap, I can’t see anyone doubling up in both as a GC contender.
