people who organise a social event

MONTHS in advance

despite an intervening christmas

then start moaning about how much preparation they have to do

really fook me off a lot

If they want to organise something, they should know there is prep involved, surely? Just tell them to Excel spreadsheet that shit.

I did a large and detailed Christmas spreadsheet this weekend. How nerdy is that? :)

it's the physical prep that is the problem apparently

and yeah, don't be such a fooking drama queen about something THEY chose fooks sake

wtf is in your spreadsheet?? mine says "buy champagne and chocolate; draw curtains"

I have done it day by day from the first day I am off work until when the guests go home. It's what is happening per day, menu per day, shopping list of items needed per day and tasks to be done that day (like baking and stuff).

What physical prep is needed for a social event? If it's a work event can't they just cater it? If not, then just order food from a supermarket.

it is a dinner party that she is cooking herself

blaaaah

you are a good Christmas person! I would die from introvert poisoning if I had my holiday sullied with plural guests for plural days

She sounds....highly strung. A dinner party is piss easy.

I am enjoying the prep. Not sure the reality will hit the heady heights in my head, though. I am keen to make it a good one though, just got lots of baking to do....

Im extremely lazy about organising social gatherings so I’m also extremely appreciative of those who make the effort. If they want to moan then I let them, sympathise and tell them how much people appreciate them.

blimey. I thought I was doing well to have finished the gift buying (and actually I haven't)

I don't appreciate them she kind of nagged me to come when she heard of be in London so she can show off her boyfriend. If you want to do it, do it but don't whine like someone made you at gunpoint.

Linda, I still have presents to buy and food shopping to do. This is the only way I can manage it without a panic. Also, I have most of next week off to do most of it, so that helps...

one of my favourite traits about myself is that incredibly boring men find me annoying

I wish it would cause them to leave the scene rather than bore on about it but one step at a time
