If that is reflected in a GE then my prediction of a Lab 30 seat maj is blown out of the water. I think it won’t be as consistent a swing nationwide but, especially with the SNP also struggling I am a lot less confident in my early call than ever.
Being stubborn though, I will stick to it. 30 seat lab maj!
There are ‘protest votes’ and there are protest votes……..
Do these grifters seriously think a winter of discount tents is going to make things any better????? Inflation as predicted is sticky. The economy is in the toilet. Etc etc etc
Wiki says the “major settlements” of Mid Beds include places called “Ampthill” and “Flitwick”. LOL.
SKS really needs to get on the float in his spinning euro sign top hat and cruise dancin’ through the streets of, er, Ampthill. While, I think, the Football Cliches theme music blares.
XWP - I first made that prediction when Guy had a thread (a long time ago, before Truss I think) about how it was likely to be a hung Parliament. I confidently stated that Lab would win with a decent working maj - I.E. 30 seats.
I have stuck to my guns since then in a very stubborn attempt to be able to say “guess I called it” in true Risky fashion and I ain’t changing now.
if this is repeated at the GE- and if anything we can expect a further swing to labour between now and then - then it’ll be a case of LOLijg heartily at the 15 or so constituencies who still manage to elect a tory mp

suspect a lot of Tory voters stayed home rather than protested, but it's still mental, lib lab split should have kept the tories in in both seats
Mid Beds is all down to Dorries treating the area like a fief and not showing up to work for a year

An utter backwater, but Toby Litt's novel about growing up there is a cracking read iirc

That’s basically what I, laz, RR, oracle, FF, Davos etc have been saying for months.

Chairman confirms they're not dead yet.
'We are not in the business of discussing a date for a general election. We are in the business of governing the country.'

Ampthill is quite nice. I went a wedding there once. Only time I've been to Beds, I think.

This is just absolutely lovely news for a hungover Friday morning.
I'm taking the day off after the GE and staying up all night with a bottle of Glenlivet 15

Give over m88, don’t forget we know you’re the conservative party.

there should be some kind of rule that if the sitting gov loses X by-elections then it’s an automatic GE
