There is this theory that some of the stones were from an older monument in Wales that was captured by the Wiltshore lot but let's forget about that.

Wouldn't that mean pretty much every museum and art gallery would be empty?  But a shedload of oligarchs and dictators would get some pretty sweet antiques? 

It would be such a shame if the Elgin marbles ended up on Ebay in Athens a week later.

A complete stooge, given a long extension lead for his laptop which he has only succeeded in tripping over repeatedly. I’ve just heard Workie’s lame ass demonisation of Brussels over Starmer’s choice of the Ode to Joy as a fave piece of music. Pathetic. What would he prefer plucky Brits to be listening to - Oi? Or perhaps something from his own culture.

Maybe he doesn't like Ode to Joy. It can get be off putting when they're all chanting it holding hand as you're trying to deliver the budget or something. 

Interesting point from Matthew Parris in the Times yesterday that it also suits the Greek PM to have something to distract from his assorted problems at home...

It is very easy to despise sunak on his own terms without referring to "his own culture".
