Johnny Mercer

how do you feel about him?

I think broadly positive although the thing about his wife in the Plymouth herald was a bit weird

wtf is wrong with Tory whips tho

I like him. Seems down to earth and sensible. Not in politics for himself but for his constituency and to make a difference.

I think the Plymouth Herald was just looking for a story and was a bit sensationalist tbh.

Hope he will go far but I think his unpolitical nature and unwillingness to play the game will hold him back. Shame.

He is local to me.  My assessment is that he has the drive and energy (good thing) and the intellect (bad thing) of a junior army officer.  He would probably have retired as no more than a major if he'd stayed in.

Perfectly straightforward, but not national leader quality.

His brother is a solicitor.  His picture on his website used to be him holding a big hardback book "Law is War"...

I think I heard somewhere that they are not friends.

If I had to draw what I imagine/know for a certainty what 3 Dux looks like, it would have been like one of those spookily-accurate crime efits of Mark Francois
