I am this evening, as maybe are you

making my family a good coarse ragu

I've washed all their clothes

Ironed five school shirts

And tried to get creases out of two pleated skirts

Taught my daughter to swim

Took them both to soft play

Bought my son some new clothes as he grows bigger each day

Changed 3 nappies, done two baths

Soon it'll be story time, then tidy up their crap

Iron my shirt for tomorrow

Pack both their school bags

Clean down the kitchen from our sausage and mash

Spend a week at work exhausted

And pressured, and sad

And do it all again next weekend

Because I'm their dad.

I am making an M&S two done for £12 meal for baby brother and myself (chicken Kiev, greens, triple cooked chips, and Jaffa cheesecake)

He has been asleep since 2pm after spending last night at a lady friends.

Will he be awake to enjoy dinner and board games with me?

Mrs Donny and the oldest Donny Junior are away at a family thing plus our nanny is on holidays so I have just done what was declared by my daughter to be the The Daddy Weekend. She had a full (written) agenda which she presented before we started. It was a challenging timeline but I think we got through it.

Inter Alia we had:

Netball

The dog park

Bike ride
Not one, but two Descendants movies.

Cinema (yes I have watched a total of 3 movies aimed at 8 year old girls in 2.5 days. My brain is now mush)
Shopping for good school report reward at Sanrio store.

An entire morning routine that was themed around Cinnamon Roll (the Sanrio character, not the food stuff).
Reading

PS5 Nickleodeon All Stars brawl competition (she won)
A fashion themed drawing competition (she won)

Top Trumps

A design a donut shop competition (she won).

Korean style fried chicken (home made)

Dinner at Carluccio’s (shaky moment when there were no bread sticks).

A daddy/daughter run (3.5k)

She also found time for a play date at the neighbour’s house. I planed to go for a proper run but had a nap instead!

Packing off youngest Asturian for a weekend trip with the family of a classmate

Tennis with Mrs A on Saturday  AM followed by cooking up some pre soaked Eggy bread

Chatting tough Uni essay with middle Asturian

Swimming with Mrs A on Sunday AM

Visit to my mum to chat living will, the disaster that is the ex pat lifestyle of one of my sisters,  to change settings on IPhone and explain WhatsApp again (sigh, I know, I know she’s 88 and game for even trying but I ve lost count of run through )

Exchange texts with oldest and youngest and a once over of the spending report from youngest’s card  for his long weekend away :)

Sunday evening was homemade bacalao a la romana with sauce n sides

*tips cap to those still doing the hard hours of weekend school prep and Disney films
