Apart from the mental midgets that use their overladen shopping trolleys as battering rams there is nothing to dislike about costco. Cheap stuff, free samples, decent quality. Even the fresh stuff is better than tesco or sainsbos. Yes I will take 3kg of mince for bugger all money and portion it up at home to freeze.
You don't have to pay to go shopping at Waitrose though Royalty.
The products may seem cheaper at CostCo, but overall shopping there is not. They make no margin on most of the products they sell. They make almost all of their margin on your membership subs.
Membership subs are practically free for people with a business meatspad. I make it back after filling the car twice. Why are you private school right whingers so bad at home economics?
I was always fascinated by that image as a child - on the tin of Lyon’s Black Treacle which was always in the larder at home. Usually used with bananas and cream. Jumpers for goalposts mmmm?

Robert Bargery needs his head seeing to for that quote.
Having never noticed the pic on the golden syrup packaging , well, that’s fvcking macabre and not at all in line with modern food standards.

Also, wait until the Daily Mail finds out neither bees nor lions (dead or otherwise) have anything to do with golden syrup.

Heh at it being "woke" to realise that a rotting animal carcass might not be the best logo for a food product.
It must be exhausting trying to apply "wokery" arguments to everything.

“Why does the right hate young people so much?”
just reciprocation for the fact that nobody currently aged under 45 will ever vote for a right wing party again in (or after) their lifetimes

But apart from the art galleries, what have the sugar barons ever done for us?

To be fair, after 140 years it was time for a brand refresh.

I predict this is (a) not ‘controversial’ and (b) will have no impact on sales.

Golden syrup is shite anyway. We have costco these days and it sells giant tubs of maple syrup that is much much better.

Who wants to store 23 bottles of spare Heinz tomato ketchup just to get a few measly pennies off them.
It’s an emporium for fools, who know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

funny how loud and hard these rightists object to businesses making their own free choices about branding

Heinz ketchup at costco is 32p per 100g
at Waitrose it is 74p per 100g
I am not a ketchup person, but that is your example.
Maple syrup at costco is £1.10 per 100ml
at waitrose it is £1.70 per 100ml
These product basically don't expire and I have a pantry for storage.
Petrol at costco is always at least 10p cheaper than local garage and more often 15 cheaper.
YOU ARE A MUG

The problem is that absolutely thick-as-mince, frothing cloud-yellers just call everything they don't like, or feel slightly suspicious of, woke.

and the same thick-as-mince frothing cloud-yellers think buying the same product for less money is chavtastic.

I don't care if Costco make a profit off my membership. It's a price I'm willing to pay to only buy toilet paper twice a year.

Never noticed the old branding and still tastes the same in a syrup sponge with a good splash of custard.

Shouldn’t scrimp on your perishable groceries though mates, yes you might save a few pence but some of them have a very short shelf life…

I suspect that folks that shop in Costco also manically churn their credit cards each year to gain a few free shiny baubles.
