I love mulled wine. I used to make Thermos flasks of the stuff to take to bonfire night parties.
The last bonfire night party I went to, my BIL lit a firework that blew the bucket it was in to pieces and temporarily blinded us all. We needed a mulled wine after that.
One year one of my fireworks (a cheap one not bought by me) went directly sideways, hopped a femce and sploshed into the next door's duck pond like a middle class deprh charge. There was much angry quacking
Had the sideways firework thing at a teenage bonfire party. That one landed in a girl’s hair, she was not happy. A salutary lesson in not setting off fireworks under a tree.
It always strikes me that mulled wine is something middle aged people drink on a Monday as they think it is 'classy' instead of having something decent like a pint
I never drink on a Monday. It's just not a day I feel inclined to drink on
Only ever fancy one Thursday and Friday and Saturday if there is sport on

So, crispy fried duck on the menu that night, Wang?
Judy - will you cave in at Christmas? 128 days is impressive.

Fireworks are basically illegal in Scotland now. It may shock you to learn I am fine with this. Although I am a fan of a roaring fireplace.

The best thing bar none about fireworks night by far is all the owners of shyt dogs wailing about it on the internet

One sniff of a steaming mulled wine always makes me cough like there's no tomorrow.

Same! I like the idea and the taste but on the relatively rare occasions I have it I always need to be careful to hold my breath while sipping.

I don't think there is much booze in mulled wine (not in this country anyway)

My challenge was to do six months, so I have 54 days of sobriety left.
