There is an extra curricular evening course that starts tomorrow I really wanted to do. I didn't book it because I wasn't sure how many of the sessions I'd be able to attend without work getting in the way.
It now turns out I would have missed the first one if I had booked it because of work.
This annoys me.

yes today I would have liked to have had a lie in, go out for a nice pub lunch, country walk with the dog in the afternoon, get home as the night falls to watch a decent film before dinner. My job has stopped me doing all of those things.

previously, yes, the grind of work would steadily crush and destroy any actual ambitions I harboured
Now I’m doing two distance learning courses in Interesting Shit simultaneously, while being really active in raising my kids.

Surely everyone knows that you just say you're going on an Alpha course or to your scientology grooming?

Generally not but can cause issues with turning up to the pub on Friday when friends who finish work at 5pm have already had three or four pints.
