Does it matter if Ukraine are exaggerating their casualty figures for effect?

BBC flagging the ‘400 dead’ at theatre may not be true, I notice

It could be worse, they could be pretending to have taken in more refugees than any other European country, or claiming to have the fastest growth in the G7.

Zelensky’s continual exaggeranding is not helpful tbh

OMG IT’S WORLD WAR THREE! IT WOULDN’T BE IF IT WERE IN YOUR COUNTRY OBV BUT SINCE IT’S IN MINE, THIS IS WORLD WAR THREE MORHAFOKKAZ!

It isn’t world war three any more than Syria was

Royalty, Your comment seems what might be referred to as ‘whatabouttery’? Perhaps you might like to try again, addressing the question, lest people assume

you are a massive hypocrite?

I think, risky haw haw, that you have understood whataboutery as effectively as you have spelled it. Perhaps you might like to try again, lest people assume

you are an ignoramus?

For fvcks actual sake. I doubt Zelenskyy has much idea what is going on a lot of the time to be honest.  What he does know is that his people are being massacred indiscriminately by Russia.

I really hope it ends up being less than 400 dead in that theatre but I have a nasty feeling it won't. Either way it doesn't change the fundamental reality of what Russia is doing and no it doesn't matter.

Zelenski is fighting for his country’s continued existence and his own and family’s lives. I can forgive him a bit of an exaggeration. Better than Russia’s laughable lies about the extent of their losses being a few sprained ankles and a flat tyre.

Won't hide my admiration for Zelensky.  I doubt many people would do a better job in the circumstances.

And is it exaggeration? In truth, a "world war" is only a matter of labelling/definitions - and therefore a matter of perspective of the person labelling/defining.

Is the whole world effected?  Yes.  Are there multi-jurisdictional combat zones?  No.  I don't expect this to be labelled as a WW3 in the immediate future because the collective, living human race are too arrogant to admit we've not progressed in 80/60 years.  But in 50 years, that perspective could easily change again.
