Apaz the reason he got such a pasting was that his costume was too heavy.
also if you’re going to dress like the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail you prolly shouldn’t go round afterwards though telling everyone that ‘he didn’t hurt me’ when your blood ended up spraying the first 10 rows.
’it’s just a scratch’ etc

you can’t be hard with a name line Deontay
Its a girl’s name
This is why he failed. I’m Team Fury

Saw it today, Fury earned that win fairly and squarely, I was surprised

If you're so out of shape you can't a wear a costume to walk 200 yards without being exhausted you probably shouldn't be in a world title fight.

Reckon she will trigger the rematch clause.
madness, another defeat like that would finish his career

If he doesn't trigger the rematch then he seems chicken frit and his career is over anyway.

No, he needs a couple of wins and to wait for the fall out from AJ - Fury.
needs to road test a different strategy otherwise he’s just going to get monstered again.

I agree with FF. Right now nobody wants to see Fury Wilder 3 because it will so obviously be a walkover. Wilder needs to score another two huge knockouts, including against someone decent like Dillian Whyte, and then he’ll be firmly in pole position for the Fury/AJ winner. That’s his only chance now at another huge payday.

every time they say "Deontay" I hear "Beyoncé"

He got proper spanked. I very much enjoyed the American pie send off

I agree with the general sentiment of most that's been written in this thread, but I have to take issue with this paragraph above.
If you’re going to dress like the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail then you have to respond to all beatings, cuttings, removed limbs and so on with statements such as "it's just a fleshwound" and "come back here and I'll bit your legs off". So the statement ‘he didn’t hurt me’ when his blood ended up spraying across the first 10 rows was entirely respectful of the role.

FF, who would he fight? The division seems to have crystallised to DW, TF and AJ. I don't see a realistic two fights he could make that would put him back in contention.
Surely he has to fight Tyson and hope to knock him out like he nearly did in fight one.
I'm no expert though. Maybe there are bridge fights back to the top.

‘Maybe there are bridge fights back to the top.’
i think that’s the opinion of most trainers, win a couple of fights that go somewhere near the distance, try something new and come back match ready.
Anyway, by then fury may have imploded or poss even lost to AJ, both of which would be an opportunity

But he is older than both AJ and TF. I can see Tyson gakking his career away, but not AJ.

Yeah but he will fancy his chances against AJ whereas Fury has him on toast

Maybe. I think AJ will box him to death as much as Tyson did. He always has a punchers chance against anyone though and AJ can't lean on him as much.

He refused to fight AJ before AJ showed he could box tactically. He's spent his entire career to get one win against a decent boxer in Ortiz (and how good is he really?). He's done. Why would AJ fight him now?

He should trigger the rematch clause, try and squeeze a payoff (and/or a guarantee of a shot at the winner) to step aside and let Fury v AJ happen. He can then KO a couple of bums to rebuild some hype in the meantime

‘Why would AJ fight him now?’
right now, no reason at all. he will need to fight Dillon Whyte in the meantime and win well. Could well come a cropper but getting back in the ring with Fury is just suicide.
he is behaving like somebody who is still punch drunk tbh, it’s concerning.

He will obviously trigger the clause. I suspect a desl will be done with an agreed path back. Eg wilder first option against winner but 30% money.

Guy needs to stop whinging and learn how to jab. Suspect he’s too old for new tricks now though. Also putting on 10 kilos was a disaster - slowed his one weapon down.

Has sacked Breland for throwing in the towel. What a twunt, the guy has saved you from leaving the ring on a stretcher or in a body bag, grow the fook up.

What a prick. The footage of him slumped in the corner between 6th and 7th was frightening.
He either retires or he takes the rematch. This aura he has built up by carefully picking journeymen to knock out has gone and neither he nor the fans will have much interest in seeing him go back to that now.
Whyte v Wilder and more importantly Joshua v Fury is obviously what needs to happen, but won’t. If Joshua beats Pulev and Fury beats Wilder again then the unification fight may happen, but even if so that’ll be some way off.

Ortiz was no journeyman just a tad old

I agree Wilder is a spent squib. He won't fight AJ and as said above why would AJ take it - the big $$$ is the unification at wembley (although I think Hearn has booked White Hart Lane for AJ's next).
Just hope Fury's TV deal doesnt screw it up.
Can't see Wilder beating Whyte, or even Acora tbh. Would be nice to see Kltsch come back and serve him some shoe pie.

Aged 34, 44 fights, 42 wins by ko, 1 draw 1 loss - not a spent force just yet

"One day I’ll come back here with a world title and defend it at Croke Park."
I reckon he could fill it now
