Caribbean hedz - Barbados recommendations pls

planning a caribbean holiday for early summer and wld appreciate any recommendations for where to stay / places to avoid from the well-travelled amongst you. understand it's hurricane season from end of may, but barbados mostly escapes that. west coast looks the place to be, at least for the best beaches and snorkeling/diving/fishing. thanks

it will be unspeakably hot; my recommendation is that you wait until next jan/feb or go somewhere else ...

but if you must, then yes the sea on the Atlantic coast is much rougher

You’re right about Barbados being neglected by the hurricanes, but it will be hot.

West coast is calmer as not facing the Atlantic, but it’s all golf and oldies. If you’re seeking the company of oldies in their golf buggies then fill your boots.

St Lucia is prettier and attracts a more interesting visitor. Would recommend that.

i dont think theres much point NOT being on the west side of any carribbean island if its beach you want, and in most cases its where most accommodation is located. ( obv there are exceptions to this if main interest is eg sailing but ykwim).

i thought temps were faily even thru the year in west Infies - is it lack of wind that makes it hot in summer? Also some places get loads of jellyfish in summer in this part of the world. Finally, lots may be shut up as not high season.
