Foakes

Rationale:

(1) Foakes is the best wk in the country. He will give you 1 - 2 dismissals a Test which lesser mortals will not. If that dismissal happens to be Steven Smith he is worth his weight in gold. He can also bat. Bairstow is woefully out of form and needs a break from the game.

(2) Ali's batting and bowling have fallen apart. Leach might not turn the ball as much, but he will give you more control, and as the Ireland match shows, he is willing to knuckle down and graft for runs  - he won't give you many 50s or any 100s but Ashley Giles is living proof of the value of a consistent 20 or so runs down the order, particularly if there is a proper batsman still in.

(3) Archer. Gives you  extra pace and bounce which is sorely lacking.

(4) Sibley - is a quality opener. Bringing him in means Roy can bat at 4, when the ball is older.

(5) Curran - Woakes has clearly got a knee problem (hence why he only bowled 13 overs, and as Edgbaston showed taking risks with bowlers not a 100% fit is very risky, not just because you lose the match but also because you lose their services for the remaining matches. Also, while Woakes does well in favourable conditions he can struggle at other times (like he did in Aus) and at least Curran, with his left arm deliveries, provides variety.

3-ducks - Jennings is woeful against the moving ball, which, you know, is a teensy bit of a handicap as an opening batsman. He only ever does well on sub-continent dustbuckets, where the bounce is low and seam movement merely a figment of the bowler's imagination.
