I remember my dad being visibly shaken and ringing his friends from the local Conservative party to talk about it. You really would have thought someone had died, it was a deeply depressing experience. And yes, it was definitely warmer I’m sure.

I was on my way to school when my mum told me. I was sad because I was six and thought a lady prime minister was the way forward.
My feminist instincts are still just as strong, but thankfully my political views have evolved.
