What bird calls out at 4 or 5 am? I listened to it for an hour or so but I couldn't see it. It was a lovely call and something I have never heard before.
The first in the dawn chorus is normally blackbird or robin. Adapted to living in shadows, so the biggest eyes and active when it’s quite dark. Both have sweet short liquid songs.

Thanks. It may well be a black bird. It is eating all the berries from the holly in my garden.
