I always thought the technology was over complicated. All you need is an airport like scanner that can read the barcodes in a trolley or basket at once. Apparenlty the technology exists
I actually miss the Amazon Fresh that closed near us. Nip in at 10pm on a Sunday night, grab some stuff, walk out. Staff were helpful, stock was much better than Tesco Express.
