said they recognised the name of a Labour frontbencher who doesn't exist.  Even allowing for people trying to look more clued up than they are it shows how disengaged people really are.  I would expect the same result for a Tory with a suitable name like James Barnabas-Jones.

I don't think it shows how disengaged people are, I think it shows how little politics matters outside of its bubble

it doesn't help that it is quite slow moving (cough, emergency Rawanda leglisation has taken how long now and can apparently wait until MPs have their holiday) in a fast moving world 

it doesn't help either that it is intrinsically boring, silly and difficult to influence
