3 tons of cocaine a year in London

23kg a day ,equivalent to 567,445 doses a day

I have watched  many  M&A guys age 30 years in just 10 years due to this stuff.

Four years ago I watched 27 year old with an endless "cold", wreck his suit with a nose bleed in front of a key client.

I hope God is going to end all of this very soon

I once did a deal with a guy that was clearly off his nut on Ching the whole time. Very unhealthy indeed, he always had what looked like a cold sweat on. Grubby little deal too..

My bovvered bag's pretty empty when it comes to the users, who are privileged hypocrites. I'm much more concerned about the social harm it does all the way down the supply chain, to some of the most vulnerable people in the world. To say nothing of the environmental damage.

In my non negligible experience of knowing recreational drug users, coke heads are less likely than fans of other substances to be dull and contemptible dickheads when not using. Stoners are the worst for being tedes.

What Heffalumo said. Considering its supposed prevalence in the City, I’ve never been aware of anyone actually being high while at work. I have known plenty of city types who used it in their free time tho.

Legalisation will only work through the auspices of an international treaty. One country doing it alone is likely to make things worse, as a secondary underground trade competes with the regulated one. But ye, in an ideal world, I agree.

I work with a lot of people who have taken it recreationally - but the notion that city lawyers are having it delivered to assist with all-nighters is absolute fantasy.

I thought I'd never worked with anyone on coke because I had no idea what to look for, then one day a colleague pointed out all the people at my work who were definitely cokeheads and it was immediately obvious.

That said - does anyone recall that fish and chip shop on Finsbury Square (think closed now) that had a private members cocktail bar in the basement (fairly common for a fish & chip shop, obvs) but had pre-wrapped coke to sell to members?  Most catering to the UBS crowd, IIRC.

Same report said that coke use was even higher per person in Bristol!

I know plenty who take it recreationally and suspect I know one or two who’ve taken it at work for a laugh.  Once even spent an evening in a pub with someone who had it delivered on a moped within 20 minutes or ordering it Deliveroo style.
