ITV's wrist has been slapped by OFCOM after comments by QualitySolicitors' favourite advertising girl Amanda Holden.
Holden's appearance on the flagship mid-morning friend to the unemployed, This Morning, was controversial. She was interviewed about, inter alia, her role in Shrek The Musical and dancing dog gurn-fest Britain's Got Talent - but took every opportunity to plug the QS brand on the way. Her plugging included noting that all those within the QS stable are "kosher" and would hand out free advice, whilst seeming to suggest that all other solicitors were going to "rip you off".
Unfortunately for all involved, the plug breached OFCOM rules on product placement - especially when a presenter responded to her hard-sell and appeared to describe lawyers as "vultures" - leading to a formal telling off for ITV.
QualitySolicitors has recently received a fat wodge of private equity cash to fund its expansion across the country. But despite being busy scoping WHSmiths country wide, a spokesman for QS took the time to talk to RollOnFriday: "We are, of course, delighted that Amanda Holden, ITV and the ‘This Morning’ presenters felt the benefits of using QualitySolicitors were such as to be worthy of sharing with their viewers. We are sorry to hear that OFCOM felt their enthusiasm for QS amounted to a breach of the OFCOM rules", he plugged.

(1) my dad always wanted one-handed lawyers as, apparently, he only ever received on one hand - on the other -advice ...
