Who you will work with

The Practice

The Clifford Chance Global Restructuring & Insolvency team is led by a core group of 44 partners who regularly advise all types of stakeholders on some of the most complex and high-profile restructuring situations across the globe.  The breadth and depth of our practice allows our clients to benefit from restructuring and finance expertise across a full spectrum of products and structures, providing access to specialists in areas which are often pivotal in distressed situations, such as pensions, tax and derivatives.

The Group

Our team frequently partner with clients through all stages of the transaction - strategic planning, negotiation and implementation - and, where required, use our cross border expertise to give practical guidance on jurisdictional variances and issues. Our overall depth, scope, experience and detailed understanding means we are well placed to provide proactive legal and technical advice of a consistently high quality, irrespective of the scale and complexity of the transaction.
The Restructuring and Insolvency Group sits within the Finance and Capital Markets practice in our London office and comprises of 6 partners and 15 lawyers.  The Group regularly partners with teams across a range of practice areas (eg, leverage finance, real estate fine, structured debt) as assignments require.

What you will do

The work profile offered by this group has a strong international bias. Candidates will be working closely with our insolvency practices outside London - especially the US, Asia Pac, The Netehrlands, France and Germany. The group is currently involved in a number of high profile restructuring assignments, as well as international insolvencies. We have been retained on these matters because of our ability to service clients' needs for genuine cross-border insolvency capability. This trend will only increase given the fact that most major restructuring and insolvency assignments now have significant cross border elements.

The group's clients include all the major domestic and international financial institutions, a number of private equity and alternative investor clients, as well as key insolvency practitioners at major financial advisory firms and the Official Receiver (UK Government appointed insolvency officeholder of "last resort").
